With DORKAFILL® PRO_LUCENT, Gebrüder Dorfner GmbH & Co. Kaolin- und Kristallquarzsand-Werke KG provides the paint and lacquer industry with a new type of filler. It has a very high level of transparency and is thus able to effectively reduce the raw material costs of colorless paint systems. In addition, DORKAFILL® PRO_LUCENT can also reduce system costs in tinted wall paints by helping save on pigments.
While the price-performance ratio of pigmented systems can be greatly optimized through the use of multifunctional fillers, this approach has not been available to paint system manufacturers to the same extent for colorless coatings. The previous options of redesigning colorless formulations more cheaply almost always led to a reduction of quality standards.
With DORKAFILL® PRO_LUCENT, Dorfner now offers the paint and lacquer industry a new filler solution based on aluminum silicate, which can reduce the raw material costs of colorless lacquer systems or transparent bases without adversely affecting transparency or color, even at higher quantities. The chemical resistance of the coating systems also remains unchanged, while the scratch resistance is further optimized.
While DORKAFILL® PRO_LUCENT is used in clear lacquer systems to reduce the amount of binder, the new filler in solid colors fulfills a different task: here, it is used to create bases to achieve really deep color tones without negatively affecting the opacity. In both applications, DORKAFILL® PRO_LUCENT shows a wide range of compatibility, be it on water-based, solvent-based or radiation-curing systems.
