Running for a good cause

The Schnaittenbach Town Run took place for the 20th time this year. On June 15, 2019, 168 sports enthusiasts from the region laced up their running shoes in beautiful summer weather and coverd a total of 753.6 kilometers. Dorfner, the main sponsor of the town run since its very inception, donated 0.70 euros for every kilometer run to a charitable project.

Participants in the Town Run could choose between three different route lengths: 2.2 km, 6 km or 9.2 km. So keen runners big and schmal run the distance to suit them. Those who didn’t want to run could walk or cheer on the runners along the route.

“You are all winners for a good cause”, Mayor Reindl congratulated the runners in the evening at the award ceremony in the Vitus-Kirwa marquee. Dorfner rounded up the total amount of 514,92 euros and handed over a 600 euros check to the principal of the Schnaittenbach elementary and high school, Michaela Bergmann. The money will go towards a music project at the school. For Dorfner, some point, the pupils of today will looking for apprenticeships and hopefully they will have a positive memory of Dorfner.
