In the wake of the corona pandemic, the demand for non-slip and easy-to-clean floor coverings for medical facilities has skyrocketed worldwide. Altro Ltd., an approximately 100-year-old family business from England, which produces high-quality PVC floors with adjusted slip resistance, has had to work at full capacity ever since. Dorfner has been supplying paint sands for flooring systems to Altro for many years and is also standing shoulder to shoulder with the company during these times – with full commitment!

At the beginning of April, Altro sent Dorfner a request to provide additional quantities of urgently needed sands for hospital floors at shorter delivery times. The planning required to respond to this special request for help began almost instantly in Hirschau. Extra shifts and weekend work were implemented at short notice to ensure that 68 tons of material could be sent to England within a week.

A great success in difficult times, which was made possible by a high level of commitment from the areas of production planning, logistics, color sand production, packaging and quality assurance as well as our partner Innoveo. Altro themselves recently wrote: “We would like to thank you very much for your support. We greatly appreciate the efforts you make at Dorfner”.
